SOREN VEE RITES HELD THURSDAY AT TRYSIL CHURCH

Funeral services for Soren Olaus Vee were held Thursday, March 27, at the Engstrom Funeral Home at 1:00 o’clock and the Trysil Lutheran church at 2:00 o’clock, with Rev Morris Ulring officiating.  Mrs Joseph Houim sang “Nearer My God To Three” at the Funeral Home and Aaron Nelson sang “Det Brister en Strang” and “He Leadeth Me” at the church

The pallbearers were Joseph Houim, Elvin Gulbranson, Clarence Thompson, Walter Dahlstrom, Wencil Bjerk and Howard Bjerk.

Interment was made in Trysil church cemetery.

Soren Olaus Vee passed away, Sunday, March 23, at his home in Solem township, following a lingering illness.

Soren Vee, son of Mr and Mrs Ole Vee, was born January 26, 1887, in Sang, Norway, and was 65 years one month and 27 days at the time of his death.  At the age of one year he immigrated with his parents to America, settling at Cyrus, Minn, where he grew to manhood.  In 1907 he moved to Holmes City township in Douglas county.  On Nov 24, 1914, in Holmes City township he was married to Helga Hanson.  They lived in Holmes City township until 1932 when the family moved to Solem township where he has lived ever since.

He was baptized in Norway and confirmed at the St John’s Lutheran church of Cyrus.  He later transferred his membership to the Trysil Lutheran church.

He is survived by two sons, Olger at the home place, Melvin at home, two daughters, Alice at home and Doris at Fargo, N Dak, two brothers, Eddie Vee of Lowry and Oscar Vee of Farwell, one sister, Minnie Vee.  His wife and one daughter preceded him in death.
