Father Finds Little Boy Trampled By Horse

Picks Up Little Son Unconscious in Pasture: No One Saw Accident

Rev. A.A. Reece found his little boy Leif Arnold, four and a half years old trampled by a horse and lying unconscious when he went into the pasture last Thursday afternoon. No one saw the accident, or heard any cries from the little fellow. It is not known whether he was run over by the horse or whether he was playing too near the animal and was kicked.

The little fellow was carried into the house and a doctor summoned, but all efforts to save him were in vain. He died about half an hour after he was found. It is thought he lay unconscious in the field some time before his father found him. Funeral services were held at the home of Rev. and Mrs. A.A. Reece on Saturday morning. The little body was taken to Farwell, Minn., for burial where additional services were held at the cemetery with the Lutheran minister of Farwell officiating. The child is survived by his parents, one brother and two sisters.
