Helga Manda Myhr was born May 5, 1893, in Holmes City township, Douglas Co, Minnesota. She was a member of Trysil Church when she met her husband-to-be. Rev. S.J. Lindseth was a seminarian there. She attended Concordia College and Moorhead State College and graduated from Concordia in 1913. She taught school prior to her marriage.

Helga married Rev. Sigurd Julius Lindseth in the United Lutheran Seminary chapel in St. Paul, MN on 17 Jun 1914, four days before Rev. Lindseth was ordained. Their first parish was at Trysil Church.

Helga and Sigurd had seven children. Four of the children died in infancy. Four-year-old Luther was killed when struck (by a tractor with potato wagon) in front of the parsonage in 1929, and the other son, Sigurd, serving as an ensign in the Navy, was killed on Guam in World War II. Their daughter, Helen is married to Rev. Allen Torkelson.

Helga died October 4, 1973 and her funeral was held Oct 8, 1973 from the Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria, MN at 1:00pm, with Rev Philip Westby officiating.

Pallbearers were Lynn Torkelson, John Torkelson, Luther Myhr, Ramon
Torkelson, Dennis Johnson and Vernal Nelson. Interment was in the
Trysil Lutheran Cemetery, Farwell, Minnesota.
