Christian Anderson quietly passed away January 5, 1929 at 5 o’clock at the age of 87 years, 8 months and 26 days. He was born in Hurdal, Norway on April 10, 1841. He came to Douglas county in 1888. He spent his life in this community as carpenter and farm laborer. the last six years of his life he has lived in a house on the P.O. Myhr farm.

A week before his death he contracted the flu and pneumonia, which together with old age caused his death. Mr. and Mrs. P.O. Myhr took care of him the last few days of his life.

Funeral services were held in Trysil church Wednesday afternoon at w p.m., Rev. Vaage officiating. The Legion quartet of Brandon sang several songs at the services. The remains were laid to rest in the Trysil cemetery.

He is not survived by any known relatives in this country. He had one sister, Marie Anderson at Duluth who preceded him in death many years ago.
