Mrs O Nygaard Funeral Services Held Jan 30

Funeral services for Mrs Oscar (Olive) Nygaard were held Saturday, Jan 30, 1960, at 2 pm from the Trysil Lutheran church in Holmes City township.  Rev H N Schey officiated.

Priscilla Myhr sang “I Know of a Sleep in Jesus Name” and Leo Sylvester sang “Nearer My God to Three” and in Norwegian “Tenk Maar engang Samles Skol” accompanied by Mrs Joseph Hoium.

Pallbearers were: Roland Anderson, Stanley Femrite, Murville Femrite, George Olson, Reuben Myhr and Harold Myhr.

Interment was in the church cemetery.

Olive Nygaard  was born Oct 26, 1893, in Walden township, Pope county, Minesota, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Ole Christianson.  She was baptized and confirmed in the Immanuel Lutheran church by Rev Nels Forde.

On July 12, 1916, she was united in marriage to Oscar Nygaard by the late Rev Forde.  After their marriage, Mr and Mrs Nygaard farmed in Holmes City township and were members of the Trysil Lutheran church.

Mrs Nygaard passed away on Wednesday, Jan 27, at the age of 66 years, 3 months and 1 day.

She is survived by her husband, Oscar; one son and five daughters:  Cora Nygaard of Farwell, Julian Nygaard of Farwell, (Edith) Mrs Martin Anderson of New Brighton, (Sylvia) Mrs Ralph Haabala of Farwell, (Palma) Mrs Orvis Berg of Minneapolis, and (Adeline) Mrs Herbert Berg of Alexandria.

Also surviving are 17 grandchildren and two brothers:  Ferdnen Christianson of Cyrus and Ellie Christianson of Starbuck.
