NYGAARD

Elmo J Nygaard, 52, passed away suddenly on Friday, July 21, 1972 in Kensington, Minnesota.

Elmo was born on December 13, 1919 the son of Joseph and Johanna Nygaard in Farwell, Minnesota.  He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Rev Joseph Vaage.  Elmo was a World War II veteran of the U S Army and due to injuries during his active duty became a disabled veteran.

He is survived by his daughter, Barbara, four sisters, Iva Anderson, Hawick, Jennie Anderson, Minnetonka, Harriet Anderson, Alexandria and Myrtis Bjorklund, Hopkins, and one brother, Kermit Nygaard, Hopkins.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, July 25, 1972, at 2:00pm, at the Alexandria Funeral Home with Rev Robert Rendahl officiating.  The soloist was Mrs George Moon, accompanied by Mrs Gerald Sather.  There were Military Honors by the Ogmar Military Post No 268 American Legion, Kensington, Minnesota.

Pallbearers were Harold Anderson, Russell Anderson, Leon Anderson, Sidney Bjorklund, Curtis Nygaard and Darwin Nygaard.

Interment was at Trysil Lutheran Cemetery,Holmes City Township.
