CHARLES A MATTSON DEAD

Charles A Mattson passed on to the Great Beyond Friday, Dec 11, 1931 at the age of 68 years.
Death occurred at the Anoka State Hospital, and was due to chronic bronchitis. His health failed rapidly the last few weeks. Every thing possible was done by doctors and attendants to relieve his suffering and make it easier for him. The remains were brought to Farwell.

Funeral services from the home were held Wednesday at 1 o’clock and from the Trysil church at two o’clock, Rev J C Vaage officiating. Mrs David Anderson sang “When the Mist Has Rolled Away,” accompanied by Miss Priscilla Myhr. Rev J C Vaage spoke of the great importance of insuring our lives against sin and death and carry that insurance policy that will hold good for time and eternity. “Face to face” was sung at the church and “Lead Kindly Light” at the home.

He was laid to rest in Trysil cemetery beside his parents, who have preceded him in death. He is survived by four sisters and one brother. The pallbearers were Peter Sogaarden, Lewis Gulbranson, Emil Gulbranson, Mandt Gulbranson, Johnny Johnson and Victor Grubb.

O, safe and blessed shelte
Heavenly mansions of content,
There are the holy kindred
From our hearth stones early rent
And our precious loving Savior
Who our sins on calvary bore
Who would ever mind the journey
With such blessedness in store?
For the road leads home,
Sweet, sweet home!
O who would mind the journey
When the road leads home.
