Leonard M Johnson Rites December 15th

Leonard Marvin Johnson was born in Pope county, Minnesota August 8, 1915, the son of Oscar and Alma Johnson. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith in the Trysil church. He attended school in District No 26 in Pope county.

On June 19, 1943 he was united in marriage to Eleanor Jacobson. They farmed in Holmes City township which had been their home for the past 8 years. Mr Johnson was a member of the Trysil church and later the Trinity Lutheran church at Holmes City.

He died at the Douglas County hospital at Alexandria Friday, Dec 11, 1964 at the age of 49 years, 4 months and 3 days.

Surviving are his wife, Eleanor; his mother, Mrs Alma Johnson; and two brothers: Orvin of Holmes City and Arthur of Anoka.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec 15, at 2 pm from the Trinity Lutheran church in Holmes City. Rev Oscar L Olson officiated.

Interment was in the Trysil cemetery, near Holmes City.

Pallbearers were: Theodore Olson, Edwin Malwitz, Oliver Gulbranson, Milo Gulbranson, Clifford Mortenson and Harold Myhr.
Mrs Floyd Anderson, accompanied by Mrs William Anderson, sang “The Old Rugged Cross” and “We Shall Meet on That Beautiful Shore”.
