Mrs. Gurine Erickson was born in Trysil, Norway August 24, 1858. She came to the United States in the year 1883 and settled in Lowry, Minn. Her husband, Bjørn Erickson, passed away in the year 1892. She was preceded in death also by two children who died in infancy. In 1912 Mrs. Erickson left Lowry to make her home with her daughters and for the past 24 years has lived with her daughter Emily.
Mrs. Erickson passed away Friday evening at Minneapolis. Surviving are her three daughters, Mrs. Lillie Nelson of Hewitt and Mrs. Emily Tangvald and Mrs. Olga O’Neill both of Minneapolis, also six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mrs. Erickson were conducted from the Enger funeral home in Minneapolis and from St. Pauli church in Lowry. Rev. A.J. Sheldahl officiated at Lowry.
Interment was made at the St. Pauli cemetery at Lowry. A substantial gift of money was given in her memory to missions by her children and many friends.
