Eibo P. Eiben
Eibo P. Eiben passed away at his home near the city park Monday, March 19, after a brief illness, following a stroke.

He had been in poor health about six years and was 67 years and 3 days old at the time of his death.  Saturday he appeared to be in his usual good health, but early Sunday morning he became very ill and died Monday morning.

Eibo Eiben was born in Benson, Ill., March 16, 1878.  He was baptized in the Lutheran faith.  Most of his early life was spent in Iowa and Redwood county, Minn.  In 1915 he went to Farwell where he was in the livery business for three years.

Nov. 27, 1918, he was united in marriage to Lena Marie Mattson of Farwell by the late Rev. Rundhaug, at Alexandria.  They were engaged in farming about 20 years.  In October 1939, he moved to Alexandria where he had resided since.

He is survived by his wife, brother Henry, several nieces and nephews and a large circle of other relatives and friends.   One brother and one sister preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held Friday, March 23, from the Engstrom Funeral Home.  Mrs. Sheldahl sang “The Lord Is My Shepherd”.  At the church services Miss Priscilla Myhr sang “Nearer My God to Three” and “Abide With Me”, accompanied by Mrs. Sheldahl.

Pallbearers were Herb Strong, A.C. Schneiderhan, Spencer Smith, Argyll Peterson, Ed Benson and Delphen Wesen.  Interment was in the Trysil cemetery.

Those from a distance attending the funeral were Wm. Raveling and George Roadfeldt of Cambridge, Miss Lydia Eiben and John Eiben of Kindred, N.D, and Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Brezicka of Forman, N.D.
