Gladys Marjorie Anderson, the daughter of Andrew and Ester (Johnson) Aslagson, was born January 8, 1925 in Holmes City, Minnesota.  As a child, Gladys was raised by her foster parents, Freda and Aaron Moberg and attended school near the Moberg’s home.

On July 12, 1946, she was united in marriage to Gilman K. Anderson at the Assembly of God Parsonage in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  This marriage was blessed with six children.  Gladys and Gilman made their home on the Anderson family farm near Lowry.  Gladys worked with Gilman on the farm, milking cows and feeding cattle.  She planted large gardens every summer, canning and freezing the produce.  She loved tending to her flower gardens.  Gladys hated weeds in her gardens and was kept very busy pulling them.  She enjoyed visiting with family and friends.  Gladys liked to sing and played the accordion when she was younger.  She had an excellent memory when it came to birthdays and special events.  She would listen to the farm markets daily to let the men know if prices had gone up or down and when the obituaries were announced, everyone had to be quiet.  Gladys loved animals and had a special dog named Shasta.

Gladys was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.  Gladys went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 5, 2013, having reached the age of 88 years, 8 months and 27 days.  She passed away at the Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck where she had lived for the last nine years.
