Marian Jeanette Foster Tinsley, age 87, passed away on September 12 at Stevens Community Medical Center.

Marian Jeanette Foster Tinsley was born on Juune 11, 1913, in Geneva, New York, to Jesse and Lulu (Palmer) Foster.
She grew up in Washington, DC and was married to Selden Tinsley in 1934. She received a B.S. Degree in Home Economics from the University of Vermont, and an M.S. in Elementary Education from Plattsburgh State in New York.
As a teacher and librarian, Marian spent her life in the continual pursuit of knowledge on a wide variety of topics. She was particularly interested in history and world affairs, travel, and native arts and crafts.
She enjoyed sewing, gardening and reading. After living in a number of locations on the east coast, she moved to Morris in 1987.
Marian is survived by two children, Susan (Van) Gooch of Morris, and Richard (Loan ) of Iringa, Tanzania.
