MRS PETER O (OLINE) SOBERG

Mrs Peter Soberg was born in Trysil, Norway Jan 8, 1864 to Per Persen and Johanne Persdatter (Melaaneset) Gobakken Westby.

She died at St Luke’s Hospital, Alexandria, Minn, early Sunday morning, Dec 16, 1945 at 12:30 am, being at the time of her passing almost 82 years.

She grew to womanhood in Norway, where she received her schooling, and was confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At the age of 25 she came to America, 1889, making the trip across the Atlantic with friends. She came to Minn. and went to Holmes City, where she had relatives. She
also spent some years in Alexandria and Fargo, N Dak. She was married to Peter O Soberg in 1895. Mr Soberg passed away in 1936. Surviving are five sons born to Mr and Mrs Soberg, Parker and Grant of Alexandria,
Harry and Bennet of Holmes City, and Clarence of Barrett. Also left to mourn her loss are three step-children, Marie (Mrs G E Monson) of Argusville, N Dak, Jennie (Mrs Gust Johnson) Burbank, Calif., and one son Oscar, also 25 grandchldren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many other
relatives and a host of friends.

Memorial services were held at Bethany Home Tuesday, Dec 18th with Dr O O Gustaveson officiating and at Anderson Funeral Home and Trysil Lutheran Church in Holmes City, Thursday with Rev C E Hanson
officiating. Martin and Priscilla Myhr sang several selections.
Internment was in Trysil Cemetery. Pallbearers were David Anderson, August Molander, Ole Aasen, Henry Hanson, Martin Myhr, and Oscar Nygaard.
