Drowned Under Car In Ditch

Ole Soberg of Holmes City Is Killed When Car Pins Victim in Ditch Water.

Ole Soberg of Holmes City, 45, was killed Monday evening when an open Ford in which he was riding with Joseph Nygard, also of Holmes City, and a 12 years old Nygard boy overturned on the Lake Mary road about 11 miles south west of Alexandria, pinning the victim in a foot of water in a slough beside the road.  The accident happened about 9:30 pm.

According to accounts of the accident, the elder Nygard, who was driving, turned to talk to Mr Soberg and when his attention was distracted, the car went off the road and turned over into the slough.  The boy was also pinned under a fender of the car but was rescued.

The victim is survived by his parents, Mr and Mrs P O Soberg of Holmes City, six brothers, Parker, Grant, Harry and Bennett of Holmes City, Oscar of Seattle, Wash, and Clarence of Barrett, and two sisters, Mrs G Monson of Argusville, ND, and Mrs Grace John of McLaughlin, SD.
