Ingri Olsdatter Westby emigrated from Trysil, Norway in 1883. The journal of E.P. Lobeck states: “1883. June 24. Sunday. It was so cold we had to have a fire in the stove both morning and evening. Torgal Nordby, Johanna Viken and Inger Gobakken and many others came from Trysil.” In December 1885, Inger married Per Olsen Soberg and they settled down to life in Holmes City township. Four children were born to Per and Ingri: Jenny Pauline, Ole, Maria Beata and Oscar Ingvals. Sadly, Ingri died within days after the birth of Oscar. E.P. Lobeck writes “1891. January 19. Per Soberg’s wife died after giving birth to a baby who is the 4th child surviving her.”
In 1893, Per married Oline Olsdtr Gobakken Westby, sister of Ingri.
