Randine came from Coon Prairie, WI to Holmes City with her husband Christian in 1872 when he was called as new pastor to the Trysil Church congregation. The first recorded death in the records of Trysil Cemetery is their son Theodore who died in 1874. Randine died in 1877 after giving birth to twins. One twin died the same day and the other twin died at 18 months.

After Randine’s death, Rev. Saugstad married Gunil Marie Ovesdtr. Myhr on May 1, 1878 at Trysil Church. Later they moved west and established the community of Bella Coola, BC, Canada.
