Gelinus G. Ostby, Cass County pioneer, died at his home at 1301 N. Broadway at 5:30 A.M. yesterday, after an illness of more than a year.
Coming to North Dakota in 1890 from Trysil, Norway, Mr. Ostby operated a farm in Cass County near Argusville until his retirement a few years ago.
Surviving him are his widow, four daughters: Mrs. Peter Nordby, Alexandria, Minnesota; Mrs. Charles Havens and Gertrude and Helen all of Fargo; three sons, George of Argusville, Harry and Norman both of Fargo and sister, Mrs. O.P. Nordby of Argusville, four brothers, Ole, Jens, John and Nikolaus and a sister Gunhild all in Norway.
Funeral services will be held from the Osterdalen Lutheran Free Church, 12 miles north of Fargo at 2 P.M. tomorrow, Rev. C. J. Christiansen officiating. Prof. G. Nordberg will assist at the service.
The pallbearers will be Halvor Johnson, August Johnson, Hans Larson, Torger Olson, Peter Husfloen and John Larson.
