Oliver Omland Funeral Rites at Holmes City

Funeral services for Oliver Omland were held on Thursday, Oct. 11, 1962 at 2 p.m. from the Trinity Lutheran church in Holmes City, Rev. Oscar Olson officiating.

Interment was in Trysil cemetery, Farwell.

The pallbearers were Jacob Olson, Rueben Wagenius, Harold Myhr, Murville Femrite, Oliver Gulbranson, Edwin Anderson.

Priscilla Myhr, accompanied by Mrs. Wm. Anderson, sang “Abide With Me”.

Oliver Omland was born on March 16, 1900 in LaGrande township, Douglas county, Minn., the son of Peder and Olea Omland. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith, attended school and grew to manhood on the home farm.

On Aug 24, 1932 he was united in marriage to Muriel Paulson at the Trysil church in Farwell, Minn. After their marriage they farmed in Holmes City township.

On June 19th of this year, he was afflicted with a heart attack and had been in ill health since that time. He passed away at his home Monday, Oct. 8, 1962 at the age of 62 years.

He is survived by his wife, Muriel and seven children; Viola (Mrs. Floyd Nelson) of St. Louis Park, Minneapolis; LeRoy of Montevideo; Carolyn (Mrs. John Loken) of Gaylord; Orville, Pauline, Nancy and Joyce at home.

He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one sister; Mrs. Joseph Hoium.
