Amelia “Millie” Myhr

Amelia Caroline Myhr was born on October 13, 1922 to John and Theresa (Zimmel) Roth of Carlos.  She attended school at Carlos and was employed at Bethany Nursing Home until her marriage to Reuben Myhr on November, 8, 1941.  The couple made their home and raised their family near Holmes City until 1967 when they moved to Brandon.  Millie was employed by the Post Office at Brandon.  She was involved in many church activities and was a member of the Merry Tillers Garden Club.  Millie loved tending her rose garden, baking, and working on crafts and needle work.  She also had been a leader in the Moe 4-H Club.  Millie died on January 23, 1993 at Crestview Manor Nursing Home in Evansville.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, John; and six sisters, Frances, Ella, Tracy, Emma, Clara and Susie.

Surviving her are her husband Reuben of Brandon; two daughters: Gayle Myhr of Tracy; Pam Ogaard of Bismarck, ND; two grandchildren: Erik and Kirk Ogaard of Bismarck, ND; one brother-in-law, Rhinny Ziebell of Miltona; one sister-in-law: Florence Roth of Carlos and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on Tuesday, January 26, 1993 at Grace Lutheran Church of Brandon with Reveredn Nancy Larson officiating.  Music was provided by organist Jan Myhr and soloist Nancy Larson.

Serving as active pallbearers were George Schuneman, Harlan Schuneman, Maynard Roth, Ralph Buelke, Elroy Beulke and Russell Ziebell.

Honorary pallbearers were Elsie Jantzen, Ruth Beulke, Marie Brechbiel, Cliff and Dorothy Lund, and Ole and Petra Langos.  Interment was in the Trysil Cemetery in Holmes City Township.

Arrangements were with the Anderson Funeral Home.
