Mrs. Myhr left Norway, together with her parents, Hans and Ragnhild Strandvold, her sisters, Helga and Maria, Mrs. Knute Lee, in the fall of 1868. They arrived at St. Cloud and drove to the town of Holmes City with oxen. She lived there all her life with the exception of two years, one in North Dakota and one near Brandon. She was the last surviving member of the Strandvold family.

She was united in marriage to Peder O. Myhr of Brandon, December 19, 1877. Seven children were born to this union, two having preceded her in death. Helga Marie burned to death when three and a half years old and Carl Albert died in 1918. Her husband passed away June 2, 1932. The following children survive: Ragna, Mrs. Christ Christofferson of Eugene, Oregon; Henry Myhr of Holmes City; Helga, Mrs. S.J. Lindseth, of Borup, Minn.; Priscilla and Martin on the home farm. There are also seventeen grandchildren and one great grandchild and many other relatives as well as a host of friends to mourn her loss.

She has been a member of the Trysil congregation and Ladies Aid since it was organized 62 years ago and the only member left of the Ladies Aid.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Nov. 23d at 1:00 o’clock from the home.  Rev. Vaage spoke a few comforting words, after which Helen Lindseth, Randolph and Hjalmer Lee sang “Nearer My God to Thee” and 2 o’clock from the Trysil church.  Rev. Vaage spoke in Norwegian language and Rev. Lindseth in the English.  Helen Lindseth sang “Still, Still With Thee”, Hjalmar Lee, “Den Store Vide Flok” and Rev.
