Final Rites Held for Mr. Norman Hanson

Funeral services were held for Mr. Norman Hanson on Thursday, June 9, 1994, at 2 pm at the Hoffman Good Samaritan Center, Hoffman, MN, with the Rev. James Radatz officiating.  Burial was in the Trysil Cemetery, rural Farwell, MN.

Providing music as organist was Nola Smith.  Congregational hymns were “Children of the Heavenly Father”, “What a Friend We Have In Jesus”, and “Abide With Me”.

Serving as casketbearers were James Soberg, Luther Myhr, Leroy Gulbranson, Julian Nygaard, Gerald Olson and Maurice Soberg.

The son of Gjermund and Olegaard (Soberg) Hanson, Norman was born April 19, 1906 in Farwell, MN.  He was baptized as an infant in Trysil Lutheran Church of Farwell, MN.  Norman lived with his brother for many years, before moving to the Larson home in Farwell, where he lived for 20 years.

In 1983, Norman became a resident of the Hoffman Good Samaritan Center in Hoffman, where he has since resided.

Mr. Norman Hanson, age 88, resident of the Hoffman Good Samaritan Center, Hoffman, MN, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 1994 at the Center.

He is survived by his sister, Tillie Halvorson of Big Fork, MN.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Henry, Gust, and Peter and three sisters, Helga, Manda, and Marie.
