A large crowd attended the funeral of G Hanson, which was held on Thursday. G Hanson died on Monday morning, May 18th, at 6:30. He was one of the early pioneers and was 76 years of age. All except two of his children attended the funeral. Those who attended were Mrs Earl Talle, Mrs Christ Olson, Mrs Maurice Halvorson, Mrs Sam Vee, Henry and Norman Hanson.
* Gjermund was born at Femundsenden, baptized in Drevsjø Kapell and confirmed in Trysil. Emigrated to America 30 March 1883.

In March 1889, Gjermund’s leg was amputated just below the knee. The injury resulted from a runaway (horse? buggy?) four months earlier and the bone became so diseased that amputation was necessary.
