Carl, Pernille and little Ida emigrated from Kopparbergsland, Sweden in 1892 to Alexandria, MN.

Died Early Tuesday

Carl Grunfossen, 85, father of Mrs. Arne T. Hagen, who has made his home with his son-in-law and daughter the past ten years, died at their home early Tuesday morning after being ill a few days with influenza. The body is being taken to his former home in Holm [sic] City, Minn., for burial.
Born in Sweden June 21, 1862, Mr. Grunfossen came to this country in 1892,  settling at Holm City, where he lived until the death of his wife in 1937, when he came to make his home with Mr. and Mrs. Hagen. He is survived by an only daughter, Mrs. Hagen, four granddchildren and one great grandchild.
Funeral services are scheduled at Holm City on Saturday.

 

Ida Grundfossen – Arne Hagen wedding

On Saturday afternoon, Jan. 4, 1913 at 3 o’clock p.m., occurred the wedding of Miss Ida Grundfossen, the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Grundfossen of Holmes City township, to Mr. Arne F. Hagen of Cooperstown, ND.

The wedding took place at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Karle of this city.

Rev. B.A. Benson pronounced the words that made the two one.  Only the immediate relatives were present.

The bride is a very highly respected young lady.  She has been engaged in teaching the last few years.  The groom is a well-to-do farmer and will take his bride with him to their new home at Plaza, N.D., where Mr. Hagen has a homestead.  The young couple will make a short visit at the home of the groom at Cooperstown, N.D., before going to their new home.
