Martin Grondahl Funeral Services Held December 21

Funeral services for Martin Emil Grondahl were held Monday, Dec. 21, from the Trysil Lutheran church. The Rev. H.N. Schey officiated. Mrs. Stanley Femrite sang “Nearer My God To Thee,” and “Face to Face,” accompanied by Mrs. Joseph Hoium.

Casket bearers were William Guiles, Oliver Gulbranson, Lannie Isakson, Harold Myhr, Reuben Myhr and Oliver Omland.

Interment was in the Trysil Lutheran church cemetery.

Martin Emil Grondahl was born in Ben Wade township on Jan 12, 1889, the son of Halvor and Martha Nylund Grondahl. On March 3, 1889, he was baptized at St. Paul’s church in Lowry, Minn. On Jun 23, 1901 he joined the Trysil Lutheran church and was confirmed May 22, 1904. He attended school in Holmes City.

Mr. Grondahl passed away Friday morning, Dec. 18, at the age of 70 years, 11 months and 6 days.

Surviving are a brother, Carl Henry Grondahl of Farwell, and a number of nephews and nieces.
