Engemoen Funeral Held Last Monday
Funeral services for Olaf Engemoen, who died last Wenesday, March 8, at 6:45 A.M. were held last Monday from the Dovre Lutheran Free church at Winger. Rev. Ostby of that village conducted the rites. Interment was made in the Dovre cemetery.

Olaf Engemon was born in Trysel, Osterdalen, Norway, on February 8, 1864, and at the age of four years came to this country with his parents who settled in Douglas county, Minnesota. When he was eleven years old his parents were killed during a cyclone and from that time till his maturity he made his home with a brother, Halfden Engemoen.

When the Thirteen Townships in eastern Polk county were opened to settlement he filed on a homestead in Winger township. In 1890 he married Bertha Bakken and to this union nine children were born, seven girls and two boys. Besides his wife, five children have preceded him in death.

The deceased is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Selmer Tranby of McIntosh and Mrs. Ralph Culver of Snohomish, Washington, and two sons, Henry of Snohomish, and Arthur of St. Paul. Two brothers, Halfdan of Winger and C.M. Engemoen of St. Paul, and two grandchildren, Sherman Tranby and Thelma June Culver also survive.

Mr. Engemoen died at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Selmer Tranby in McIntosh, where he had made his home for several years, after a short illness. He had attained the age of 69 years and one month
