Carl M. Engemoen’s Funeral Rites Held
Livestock Commission Merchant Resided Here for 35 Years

Funeral services for Carl M. Engemoen, widely known livestock commission merchant and a resident of St. Paul for 35 years, were held Monday in the Listoe & Wold chapel, 150 West Fourth street.

Rev. L.M. Gimmestad, a brother-in-law officiated. The body was placed in the Forest cemetery mausoleum.

Mr. Engemoen died Saturday in his home at 1943 Princeton Avenue. He had been ill two years.

Born in Norway 76 years ago, Mr. Engemoen came to Minnesota with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Halvor Engemoen, when 10 years old. The family settled near Brandon, Douglas county, and a few years later the mother and father both were killed in a tornado. It was then that Mr. Engemoen entered the livestock business, buying cattle near his home and driving them to Winnipeg for sale. After living for some years in Brandon and later in Minneapolis, Mr. Engemoen joined with I.L. Seekins in organizing the Engemoen, Seekiins Co., livestock commission firm with headquarters in South St. Paul, and a short time later made his home in St. Paul. He retired from business eleven years ago.

Mr. Engemoen is survived by his widow; two daughters, Mrs. Robert Wilson and Mrs. A.J. Williams; ten grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
