Grave side memorial services for Sigurd Emanuel Bjorklund, 60, a resident of San Jose, Ca., and formerly of the Farwell area, were held at Trysil cemetery, Farwell, on Saturday, May 31, with Rev. Neal Olson of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Lowry, officiating.
Mr. Bjorklund died Wednesday, April 19, 1980, as a result of a heart attack in San Jose, Ca.
Sigurd Emanuel Bjorklund was born near Farwell, Minnesota., on June 19, 1919, the son of the late Emil and Mina Bjorklund.
Surviving are his wife, Myrtis; two daughters, Faye Bjorklund of Salinas, Cal, and Mrs. Ron (Jan) Conrady of San Jose, Ca.; one son, Sidney of Salinas, Ca.; three grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Thomas (Svea) Stavem of Glenwood; and one brother, Lloyd Bjorklund of New London, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Eskil and Ralph.”

Mrs. Tom Stavem received word of the sudden death of her brother, Sigurd Bjorklund, at his home in San Jose, California, on Wednesday, April 9. Death was attributed to a heart attack. A memorial service will be held in Glenwood at a later date.
Mr. Bjorklund is survived by his wife, Myrtis; two daughters, one son, one sister, Mrs. Stavem, and one brother, Lloyd of New London, Conn.
Mr. Bjorklund is a former long-time resident of the Glenwood area, and the family moved to California about six years ago for health reasons. He has been employed in San Jose as a trailer park manager.”
