Len E. Anderson Rites at Lowry

Funeral services were held for Len E. Anderson, 78, Tuesday, March 24, 1964 at 2 p.m. from the St. Paul’s Lutheran church at Lowry. Rev. Duane Berg officiated.

Mrs. Melvin Bjokne was the organist. Mts. Stanley Femrite sang “He the Pearly Gates Will Open” and Harry Bjokne sang “I Will Pilot Thee.”

Interment was in the Trysil Lutheran cemetery.

The pallbearers were: Bennie, Hjalmar and James Anderson, Julian Lomheim, Stanley Femrite and Henry Jorgenson.

Mr. Anderson died at the Glenwood Community hospital March 10, following a heart attack. He was 78 years of age at the time of his death.

Len E. Anderson was born in Ben Wade township March 17, 1886. He had lived all his life in the Lowry community and was the son of August and Gunhild Anderson. He was confirmed in the Norunga Lutheran church and attended public school near Lowry.

On May 24, 1917 he was united in marriage to Sarah Amundson at Yankton, S.D.

He is survived by one son, Gilman of Lowry; one daughter, Adella (Mrs. Kermit Anderson) of Delano, Minn; and one step-son, Merle Anderson of Portland, Ore.

Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, one sister, Etta Lomheim of Sauk Centre, three brothers, Henry of San Antonio, Texas, Hank of St. Paul and Ed of Lowry, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife in 1937, one son, Lester, who was killed in France during World War II.
