Gilman Anderson, 80

Gilman K. Anderson, 80, lifelong resident of Ben Wade Township died suddenly Friday at the Minnewaska District Hospital, Starbuck.

Funeral service was on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Ben Wade Covenant Church, Lowry, with Reverend David Wallin officiating. Interment was in the Trysil Cemetery.

Gilman was born March 9, 1918 on the home farm in Ben Wade Township of the parents Len and Sarah (Amundsen) Anderson. He attended school in Lowry. He was confirmed at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Lowry.

Gilman married Gladys Aslagson on July 12, 1946 at the Assembly of God Parsonage in St. Cloud by Pastor William A. Morken. He farmed the home farm until his death. Gilman was a member of the Trysil Cemetery Board for many years. He loved to garden, hunt, fish, trapping and being outdoors. He loved his grandchildren.

Gilman is survived by his wife Gladys of Lowry; daughter Angie (Robert) Ort of Inez, Texas; four sons; Carrol of Lowry, Kermit (Sue) of Holmes City; Marvin (Sandy) of Starbuck; Leslie (LeAnn) of Farwell; 14 grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Lester in France during WWII, and an infant son, Duane.

Arrangements were with the Hoplin Funeral Home, Glenwood.
